SAMI-2
Automated sorting
SAMI-2 is an automated sorting machine for soiled linen coming back from hotels, hospitals, aged care facilities, workplaces and anywhere else.
It takes mixed dirty loads out of manual sort lanes and into a structured path into wash, reducing handling, fatigue and bottlenecks on the soil side.
- · Built for dirty return / soil-sort stage
- · Complements SAMI-4 where higher capacity is needed
- · Pairs with clean-side Threadscan quality control
The status quo
Hands shouldn't be the first line of defence.
Soiled linen still comes back as a mixed, unsorted stream. In most plants it is sorted by hand, item by item, at the very point where the risk is highest.
Manual handling
Reaching, pulling and lifting heavy mixed linen for a full shift. Repetitive strain and fatigue are built into the job.
Hygiene exposure
Soiled linen carries biological contamination. Every hand-sort means direct contact before anything has been washed.
Sharps & foreign objects
Needles, instruments and other objects come back hidden in the soil stream, and they find hands before they find a machine.
A harsh place to work
Hot, humid and unpleasant. Soil-side roles are hard to staff and even harder to keep staffed.
How it sorts
From mixed bag to the right wash, automatically.

01
Returned from the customer
Soiled linen and garments come back from hotels, hospitals, aged care and other workplaces in mixed bags.

02
Unloaded into SAMI
Bags are emptied into the unit's infeed. The mixed load leaves human hands here.

Classified
Computer vision, RFID or both identify each piece as it moves through the unit.

Separated and routed
Each piece is distributed to the correct location based on its product type.

SAMI-2 or SAMI-4?
Different sorters. One size does not fit all.
